Another Top-10 List — Best Cities for Recent College Grads With Bachelor’s Degrees

Most people go to college to enhance their earnings potential. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree, however, it’s just not the degree earned that affects income, but also the location they work. A common dilemma, however, is that the best paying job markets are also often the most expensive places to reside, with housing the largest cost component.

As home prices continue to escalate, housing affordability becomes a major front and center issue.

So what are the top markets for recent college graduates with Bachelor Degrees? To answer this, nerdwallet examined the 100 largest markets in the country. Metrics included rent costs, median earnings of residents 25 years of age and older with a bachelor’s degree, percent of the population aged 20 to 29, jobs in management, business science or arts, and unemployment rates. They ranked all 100 markets and came up with the following top-10 based on weighting of the variables.
